Indeed...many times we ask God that our hearts may be broken and our spirit contrite before Him...but we fail to understand how God achieves that. He will put you in situations that reveal ur inadequacy and lack. When these happen, u feel unworthy before Him. And only when that happens...can our hearts be broken and absolutely humble in His presence. It's true when the Lord tells us to "look at the plank in our own eye before we look at the speck in our brother's eyes." Yes. we will find much areas of our life in lack but let this unworthiness bring us closer to our worthy God. Bcos we come to Him..."not by might, nor by power...but by the Spirit of God..." Come to Him today.

Forgiveness- the fragrance of a Christian
It is nice and easy to praise and encourage others when they seem to get along well with you...but what if...they start to get a little irritating...not what u may have expected?...
What if...they let loose some words tat hurt u?..and they r the pple that mean so much to u...whom u may have placed so much value on?...
Can u forgive?...Peter asked Jesus how many times he must forgive his brother..."seventy times seven"- Jesus said in reply to Peter...who said- "seven times?"...
What is the root of unforgiveness? Unforgiveness is caused when u put more hope and value and worth on someone than on God...and so when that person fails you...you get bitter and angry. B'cos at the end of the dae...only Jesus will nt fail u...He never will...
Rmb..even at the point of death...even death on the Cross...He did not fail.
"forgive and forget"?...not very true..."Forgive and release it to God"...tat's true...

What do I have Lord...besides my Life...to give to you...take it Lord...and use it. Give me a passion for Ur Name that cannot be extinguished or diminished...Lord I love u too much...in fact, I love U more than Life...Let this passion burn Lord...and let it consume all that is within me...so that they may bless Ur Name...
A passion for God's name...that's the highest call of a Christian life...if u hv not felt the flame of God's consuming fire in ur spirit...it's time to ask God to stir it up in your hearts...a passion for His name...tat Passion will bring you to your knees in desperation...and it will also rise you up on wings of eagles...to fufill the purpose and destiny that God has for ur life...so ASK and "it shall be GIVEN".
Read the word of God...get burned and convicted bout who He is...and let the fire of heaven fall upon ur life...and let ur life be "a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing unto the Lord"...for "this is our spiritual act of worship"..
Till we see Him face-to-face,

frens...
sometimes...working with a team of Christians is different from working with a secular group... Why?...bcos the work of a Christian is ultimately to direct and point the way to Christ...and I believe that the Holy Spirit alone can convict hearts and draw them to God.
So...how do we invite the Presence of God?...the ans: when we are one in purpose and heart- knowing where God has called us to minister His work..and then moving on in Unity. That is very impt. But sometimes...we do really fall short of this unity.
Heavenly Father...I do pray for Youth Fellowship Exco team...Lord I pray that amidst the differences in culture and perceptions...that we will learn to obey what you have put in our hearts to do. Cos...against that...there is none. Lord...I pray that you reveal Your will to everyone of us and provide clarity for our vision...that You will convict us...so that we may be fully ready to serve You and do Your will in this ministry and ultimately, this school! In Jesus' mighty name, Amen!

Worship: All we need to do
the story of Martha and Mary rings true today. Sometimes, we do feel like Martha- serving Jesus but we still do not have a sense of satisfaction in our spirit...rather we become weary and disillusioned. We have a whole list of God-things to do...our time is so limited...and already, we r feeling drained of our energy and strength. And we seem to lose the beckoning of the still small voice.
I believe Jesus is saying to you today: "You are worried and troubled about many things...but only one thing is needed. Come to Me and I will give you rest. Lay your burdens at the foot of the Cross." Desperation shouldn't drive you to anger. It should drive you to the foot of the Cross- where love and suffering meet...where grace is found to meet our every need.
Start being a mary: start to worship the King of Kings and Lord of Lords...because He holds the future in His hands...He holds your destiny...All the powers of heaven is at His calling..He's the Alpha and Omega of ur faith!
When you start running into His arms and crying out- "father", you touch His heart...and when tat happens...His hand moves... for His child.
Run to Him today...the bible says- "Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you."
A prayer
Father, I pray for every weary hearts out there- who desires to serve You with every fibre of their being. Lord, I know you care for them with an everlasting love that can never be shaken. I pray that the truth of Your word that when "we draw near to You, You will draw near to us" will sink into their hearts and minds. And Lord, You are an awesome God! Let them be filled with your presense as they worship You and commit themselves anew...Let your strength be their strength and let them mount up on wings of eagles...that they will live to tell of Your goodness and Your grace. Thank You father!

dear frens,
would like to share my heart with you pple about revival coming to Anglican High. Today, I was reading a book on "What the Spirit is saying to the churches" by Henry Blackaby- one of the great revivalist of his time. He was stating that if we wanted God to really reveal His plans to us...we must be in step with His spirit...and where He is, we must be too.
We cannot be too caught up in our own planning and doing that we forget to seek God bout where His heart is...only if we be in the right place where God wants us to be can His power flow through to accomplish His will in our school.
So, I was like seeking God- "What would you have us do, Lord?" Then God, in His grace, put within my heart 3 words- "Prepare the workers". It was a striking order- to prepare the labourers for the harvest that He has been preparing for us. Our job? Prepare the workers.
Indeed, let us be where He is. I believe the hand of the Lord is going forth before us to prepare His inheritance- the unsaved. If we do not beckon to His call, the revival will still come but sadly, we will be uninvolved in His great move. But if we do beckon, He will begin to stir a spirit of faith within us so that we may begin to step out in boldness and power to reach the lost for Him.
Frens, it's time to lay down what we are doing...and join in what He is doing.
In His perfect time,
Benedict

Caught up Mountains standing before me Rivers that I have to cross Nothing much I can do now But fall to my knees, and pray.
Desperation rises up In my spirit I cry Help me Lord
Almighty God came to my rescue Picked me up from the miry clay Set my feet on solid ground And I know I’ll never fall
Caught up in His embrace Abandoned to His grace All I can see is His face And He’s glorious...to me.
Take a look around my world See a world that’s hurting, in need Do we feel the God’s heart, His Love? Are we ready to answer the Call?
All the times I’ve felt so lonely... He was there...watching over me...

A Call to Prayer...
I believe that God is stirring up our spirits to pray in faith for His presence to come down upon our schools, workplaces, institutions. A call is going out. Will we- as a chosen Priesthood come before the Lord in repentance and humility...asking him to rain down upon this dying land? Will we pray for God’s fire to burn away all unrighteousness and every stronghold that the enemy has placed over our lives? Are we willing to step out of our comfort zone and be united in prayer...letting the Holy Spirit bring us into higher levels of intimacy?
Frens...there is a world out there that is crying out for Jesus...crying out for rain...and sometimes all we give to them are words and songs!! No...It’s time for us to call upon the Source, let’s call upon Him for rain.
Lord...I pray that today when we hear Your call to prayer...let us not harden our hearts or neglect your words but let us incline our ears towards you and intercede for this land. May your church rise up in faith and authority to pray! Let Your glory will be shown to all men!
“When I am lifted up, I will draw all men to myself.”

My God...is More Than the World
Indeed...He is! So often, we forget this vital truth that no matter whether we are facing our highs or lows, Jesus is More Than the World. He is not bounded by our circumstances, relationships, conflicts and any other factors- within us or without. He is still worthy to be praised; He is still high and lifted up.
Fanny Crosby- the great hymn-writer was born with sight, but due to the addition of a wrong chemical, she was struck with blindness...but I am glad that she grasped the fact that God is More than her World! Out of her came hundreds of hymns...such as “Jesus doeth All things well”. Indeed, “all things work for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.” And this truth remains unchanged...even though the situations in our life will change.
Do you know...? Christ is with you even when you are on the raging seas...He is walking on the waves. Do you know...Christ is with you even in the lightning sky...He is holding it all in His hands. And how I often forget...that every morning, I will wake with Him by my side...And how I pray...that I will never fail to stand in awe of His saving grace every moment of my life.
Yes...the words still ring true today: And I know whatever befalls me...Jesus doeth all things well. Yes I know whatever befalls me...Jesus doeth all things well!
Lord...indeed we want to cling to this truth for the rest of our lives...and for eternity!

"Search me, oh God and test me. Know my anxious thoughts, and see if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me today, in the way everlasting."
I believe as we near the end-time harvest that God is preparing for His people, He is setting before many of us- the Purity test. This is not a test to see how effectively we can use our skills and gifts to serve God...but this is a test to reveal the true condition of our heart.
In this test, God will allow worldly distractions- such as our most desired music CD, computer game, or software to pass before our eyes. Are we able to still hang on to our belief that “God is our shepherd.” And that we have “no want”. Or will we idolize these things and make them seem so important. Many times, I have failed in this test. I have realized that your focus cannot be on two masters...either you serve the living God, or you serve whatever “thing” there is.
Or the Lord may put relationships that are just so attractive. That they cause you to pursue after them with your heart...even though they may not be God-sent but only the decision of your own will and strength. So much so that God begin to take second-place in your heart...rather on the throne of your heart that He deserves to be.
Oh. How I pray that when this purity test grips us again...we will stand on our faith and on His word...not wavering...but out of us will come holy fires of revival.
And I know that when God sees His children coming back to purity because they are desperate to see salvation come...His hand will move mightily in power...and who can stand and not confess the awesomeness of our God?

A climax
It seems like at the last of the three chapters on pain and injustice...David reached the climax of it all. At this point, his adversaries (whether physical or spiritual) were closing in on him- v3b: "Lest I sleep the sleep of death." What could have made a man "after God's own heart" so miserable in his spirit- v2: "Having sorrow in my heart daily?"
From this "climax" chapter on pain, we can pick out certain lessons to be learnt when we are in struggling moments.
How Long?
David started this Psalm with "how long" s. It is a list of questions to God. He asked God- "How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever?" Many times when we are in faith-shaking circumstances, we can't seem to find God. All we see is the pitch-blackness of our struggles. We cry out, and feel that our prayers hit the ceiling and bounce back.
Pst. Kong Hee said these words- which I sincerely hope will encourage you in your trials: "Though we cannot see His hand...we know His heart." What do we know of His heart? His heart beats love and exudes faithfulness for us.
Un-peace
David had little peace during his trials- "How long shall I take counsel in my soul?" "Counsel" means refuge or advice...but let's look at the following line- "Having sorrow in my heart daily?" I was wondering- why the contradiction? I checked up the NIV translation and here is what it says- "How long shall I wrestle with my thoughts?"
This proved that David- looking into his own soul for solace didn't find it...instead he struggled with his thoughts. I believed that some of these "thoughts" were doubts and fears that were bottled up inside of him, that led him to plead his case before the Most High.
Lest I...
"Consider and hear me oh Lord, my God; Enlighten my eyes...Lest I..." David cried out. He brought his case before God and told God three possible outcomes of his life if God did not come to his rescue..."lest I".
David was a desperate man. He knew that God was his only chance of overcoming...that in His hands, hold the keys of David's life. Are we desperate today?...desperate to see God turn our life's "ashes into beauty"... desperate for God to rescue us?
Bring to God your case today.
But...
The last 2 verses signifies a change in the mood of the Psalm with "but". David- the man who killed Goliath in his younger days still retained his trust in the Lord, and His salvation- "My heart shall rejoice in your salvation."
David came to Goliath with a sling and five stones- but- he had a trust in His God. "You come to me with a sword, a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the Name of the Lord..." He still had that confidence in His Almighty God...so much so that even in his most faith-stretching times...he could still declare- "I will sing to the Lord, Because He has dealt bountifully with me."
He knew His God well. That His God is a just God and in the right time, delieverance will arrive and David is rejoicing beforehand- being sure in He who is faithful.
Have you the confidence in your God...that He is able to do "exceedingly, abudantly, above all that you could ask or think"? Will you cry out to God- "But I have trusted in Your mercy"...being confident in heart that his mercy shall take you through because you have trusted Him.
remember..."He who promised is faithful".
Take heart, Benedict

Enter In
Now is the time for us to shine With the Face of Christ divine No Compromise For all Heaven cries Now is the time -Delirious
Christians...just as this song says...it's time for us to arise in faith and authority in our world...to be the light and salt for Christ. We can't afford to slack on our faith but we must start to get on our knees before God and start pounding the floor of Heaven for the salvation of our friends, loved ones and even our schools. I have heard it said before that it is not so much whether God is able to do it...but whether we would believe Him for it..Do you believe for revival to start breaking out in schools? That..the cries and prayers of our heart will move the heart of God and attract the presence and power of heaven to our schools and anywhere else that we walk on?
I have returned from my school's China immersion trip...with a renewed sense of calling and purpose...and the burden in my heart to see my school and frens saved for Christ has never been more stronger. As I was reading the bible one night in China...the Lord led me to read Psalms 24..In this verse..the Psalmist urged the people to be a generation with "clean hands and a pure heart"...that they may welcome the "King of Glory...the Lord Almighty".
One of the word that caught my eyes was "ancient"...when the word was used to describe the "doors" that had to be lifted up before God can enter in. Why "ancient"? God impressed upon my heart that "ancient doors" were dusty, old and hardened due to harsh weathers through the many centuries. They were similar to the doors of the hearts of unbelievers. The "doors" have hardened towards the Gospel due to harsh conditions of their life and filled with the dust of their sins, guilt and brokeness. These "doors" need to be lifted up before the King of Glory can enter in.
"With men, it is impossible...but with God...all things are possible!"
