Tuesday, May 30, 2006 Letting Go, Moving On, Staying Pure
Dear frens... just some thoughts on how to maintain purity in our reading. a) What do we do...when we come across some ukw* scenes when we are reading a book? 1- If we have the capacity, given by God's grace, we can browse through it quickly and then, let go. Avoid the trap of lust. that may take effect if we allow our minds to wander on the passage and fantasize. Do not try to catch the spirit of the author even. keep your spirit consecrated always. 2- If we do not have that capacity, skip the page and move on. And DO NOT come back to it. b) What do we do...when we know that a book has many of these ukw* scenes? Let's say for a romance novel...you know that you are gonna be tempted if u read...so dun! "Flee from youthful lusts." The bible says. In such cases, dun even read it. Hope this helps. History Maker
